Olivia and Adam were married on the 5th of January at the amazing Bendooley Estate in Berrima, just out of Bowral in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. It had been a suspenseful morning at Liv and Adam’s wedding, there was a wild storm forecast for when their ceremony was planned for. We kept watching the Bowral and Southern highlands radar all morning and it was hard to tell whether it was going to miss us or not. Liv was a bit disappointed as they really wanted to get married under the beautiful big tree at Bendooley Estate but made the call to change it to the (equally awesome in my opinion) wet weather venue next to the lake.
The rain held off for the whole service and I think everyone was beginning to wonder whether they had made the right call to change ceremony spots… But just as they kissed for the first time as husband and wife, the skies opened up and started bucketing down some of the heaviest rain I have ever seen. It actually made for some of the most epic wedding video I’ve ever shot!
I learned two things from this wedding:
- Having rain on your wedding day isnt always a bad thing!
- How important it is to choose a wedding venue with a wet weather spot as awesome as Bendooley Estate.
Afterwards, The rain in Bowral eased up and allowed a fun photo session with myself and Jimmy Raper who was the Photographer for this Southern Highlands wedding. The night brought with it the amazing food that Bendooley Estate is known for and a raging dance floor to conclude the epic day!
