Sophie and James’ had me along as their wedding photographer and wedding film maker to the beautiful ‘Milton Park Country House’ in Bowral, Australia. These two were one of the most awesome people I have worked with. They were high school sweethearts and I don’t think I have ever met a couple so fun-loving and love-loving. James is a sensitive, lovely dude. Crying at most stages of the day at some point and made the most beautiful speech about Sophie in the evening. Sophie was super chilled and funny and had a constant smile on her face.It was clear that she was head over heals for James!
The boys got ready at a cottage down the road in Bowral, before heading up the street to play some pool at Milton Park. The girls prepped in the country house, sipping champagne and eating the amazing snacks Milton Park has to offer. The ceremony was held in the beautiful Tulip lawn in the gardens of Milton Park Country House before the reception in the Orangerie.
I liked how they had a seemingly traditional styled wedding, but done in a non-traditional way, with only 60 guests, no official bridal party and focusing mainly on partying with their family and friends instead of the traditionally long formalities. Getting married in May in the southern highlands can make for some of the best wedding photography as the area is immersed in the beautiful orange, yellow and red autumn colours.
